“Kiwi Polish is made out of Grey Chennai for the entire Asia Pacific region. Take Coke and Orbit ads, both are commercially produced in India that run globally...” However, such awe-inspiring examples are still few and far in between. Coming back to the glitzy international award nights where India seems to be a success story these days, ad-guru Prahlad Kakkar feels that the jury or the western world doesn’t understand our advertising. “They are just foxed with the execution which is over the top, emotional and colourful,” he says. So, is there a long way to go? “We don’t want to go there. There is no point in making a great ad which wins the awards and flops the product.” he exclaims.
