Even though its quarterly revenue would fall below Wall Street expectations by almost 20%, AMD’s (Advanced Micro Device) market share rose by 3.8% on the New York Stock Exchange after it announced that it would cut off its capital spending by nearly 20%. The loss in the revenue has been attributed to losing out on the market share amongst small independent PC makers. By lowering price volumes, AMD has further given rise to speculations of a price war with Intel.
